Leigh School Games

Some children from years 3, 4 and 5 have attended the Leigh School Games at Leigh Sports Village today. We had a fantastic day taking part in Quad Kids, Street Dance and School of Military Team Challenges. We worked well in our teams and some of us have even come away with medals and trophies. Two of our teams won a certificate for being determined and one team won a certificate for being passionate. Well done to all the children who took part. Here are a few photos from the day. KS1 Dance Competition

Team NWP!

Today, 13 children from KS1 took part in a dance competition at Leigh Sports Village. We danced to ‘Blame it on the Boogie’ by the Jackson Five. Altogether, there were 12 schools who took part and although we gave our best performance, unfortunately we didn’t win this time. However, we had lots of fun and boosted our confidence performing to such a big audience of adults and children. We know it’s the taking part and having fun that counts. Well done team NWP! We are all very proud of you! Continue reading “KS1 Dance Competition”

Gymnastic stars!

The Robins have really enjoyed doing PE this week. After weeks of practising different aspects of gymnastics, this week we have put everything together. Through exploring a variety of apparatus, the children combined a variety of rolls, jumps, ways of travelling, and used balancing skills to perform gymnastic routines. They also explored ways to use the climbing frame and practised how to use the ceiling ropes.

School Games Mark Presentation

This week Jack M from Year 6 and Casey R from Year 5 went to represent our school at the School Games Awards (the national award that recognises and rewards high quality provision in PE, Healthy Active Lifestyles and School Sport) ceremony at Lowton High School, they had a great time! We achieved the Gold School Games Mark award for our commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport in 2015/16.
