This half term, as part of our topic on healthy lifestyles, Year 6 are taking part in nationwide science investigations to find out more about the impact of exercise on our mood, attention span and working memory. This week, we investigated if 15 minutes of walking had an impact. First, we carried out mood, attention and memory activities online. We then walked for 15 minutes and did the same activities again. We will be carrying out different exercises over the next 2 weeks to see which type of exercise has the most impact.
Some children from Year 5 and 6 went to Golborne High School yesterday to take part in a basket ball tournament. Coby-Leigh from year 5 has written a report about the tournament:
‘Yesterday at the basketball tournament, we did a fantastic job representing our school. It was intense between a few teams but we enjoyed having the chance to play against other schools. We took part in this tournament to raise the profile of basketball as not many people play it in our country. We were very proud to finish 4th place.’
For our enrichment week this term, each class has been learning more about a famous British man and woman. We have produced lots of fantastic work which we shared in the hall on Friday afternoon. Please have a look at our boards below.
