In science this term, Year 6 have been learning about the circulatory system. This week, we carried out an investigation to see the effect that exercise has on our heart rate. We monitored our resting heart rate then did one minute of physical activity. We then monitored our heart rate straight after we did this. Our findings show that exercise raises our heart rate.

This week in maths, Year 6 have been learning to find the mean (or average) of a set of data. We carried out lots of activities to help us. We found the average age in months of the children in year 6, the average distance we can jump, the average number of catches in one minute, the average height and the average head span.
This half term, eight children from Key Stage 2 take part in our after school art club. So far, we have been looking at onomatopoeia pop art. We used the sketching pencils to first draw our pop art and this week, we have used poster paint to add colour. We really enjoy art club!
This week we have been learning about the story of The Three Little Pigs. As we got to know the story really well we decided to adapt the story to make our own versions. We looked at different images on the lap tops and choose our own animals. Favourites included; Unicorns, Wolves and Bears.
On Tuesday 15th November, 13 children from Year 5 and Year 6 took part in a cross country competition at Leigh Harriers. Today the Robins have had a very exciting day! The fire service came to visit us. They showed us the special clothing that they wear and told us all about the people they help.
